SAFE donor advised fund

The Substance Abuse Fund for Education (SAFE) was established to provide funding to address the opioid crisis in East Tennessee. SAFE is a donor advised fund held at the East Tennessee Foundation.

GRANT GUIDELINES

To request grant funds, please send a Letter of Request that includes the following elements:

INTRODUCTION

Provide a short executive summary that includes the organization’s name, total grant dollars requested, and a description of the program/project to be funded. Describe the connection between the program/project objectives and the HWF’s funding interests.

ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION

Provide a brief history of the nonprofit and a capsule summary of its programs/projects, focusing on the organization’s ability to meet the stated need. The summary needs to couple with the organization’s mission and program/project outcome. Please include an annual report, if applicable.

STATEMENT OF NEED

Describe the target population and geographic area to include goals, objectives, major activities, and the names/titles of key program/project staff and statistical data. Succinctly identify how the program/project will solve the statement of need.

OTHER FUNDING SOURCES

List any additional funding related to the program/project, if applicable. Outline how the organization will sustain the project after the initial funding.

ATTACHMENTS

Attachments consistent with the HWF guidelines may be included. A program/project budget is requested.

LETTER OF REQUEST

We are accepting letters of request between July 1 and July 31, 2023. All letters of request are due by July 31, 2023.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

Funding will be awarded between November 1 and November 30, 2023.
